Our Family Table: Multitudes in Heaven

Encouragement for the Family of God by Kenton Cheek

Reading From Revelation 19

“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God”—Revelation 19:1

The Gospel is the most inclusive but also the most exclusive message. All are invited to be saved through Jesus, but only those who choose to believe, repent, confess and receive Him as Savior and Lord will be. This might lead some to think that there won’t be many people in Heaven, that it’ll be a lonely place. It will not be.

Heaven is and will be filled with many people. “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” (Revelation 7:9-10). Jesus is waiting to return so that the Church can gather as many people as possible into His eternal family. I sure hope you’ll join us in that great Heavenly party!

“Lord Jesus, I pray that I would live my life in such a way that makes others want to follow You. Reveal Your glory to them through me. Fill me to overflowing with Your love and power by Your Holy Spirit. I love You Jesus. Help me to love others and love myself in healthy and holy ways. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.”

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.—II Peter 3:9
