Reading From Revelation 18

“When the kings of the earth who committed adultery with her and shared her luxury see the smoke of her burning, they will weep and mourn over her. Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off and cry:

“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
    you mighty city of Babylon!
In one hour your doom has come!’—Revelation 18:9-10

Humanity worships idols such as success, fame, finances, possessions, sex, and a plethora of other false deities. Men and women show their worship for these idols by how they spend their time, energy and money. Be reminded that a human could gain the whole world, but lose his own soul if he does not know God and God does not know him.

There is a day coming when all of the false religions of the world will collapse. Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of the Father. When I speak of false religions, I refer not only to what we think of traditionally as religions such as Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and the like. I also include any form of idolatry the world over.

They will all come to nothing. Why? Because Jesus is and claimed to be the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. He is also God the Son and claimed to be so. Jesus is either a liar, a lunatic, or He is Lord. Who do you say that He is? Your answer will determine your eternal destiny.

“God, convict everyone in the world by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Lead us with Your kindness to faith, repentance, confession and acceptance of You as Savior and Lord of our lives. You alone are the Creator and Sustainer of all things and You alone deserve our worship, adoration, and undivided affection. In the Name of Jesus Christ, the one and only true and Living God I pray these things. Amen.”

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me
