Reading From Revelation 16
“
Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:
“You are just in these judgments, O Holy One,
you who are and who were;
for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets,
and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.”
And I heard the altar respond:
“Yes, Lord God Almighty,
true and just are your judgments.”—Revelation 16:5-7
God is the perfect, righteous Judge. He alone is completely holy; He has never done anything wrong. He is uniquely qualified to judge the world because He is omnipresent (everywhere at once), omniscient (all-knowing), and omnipotent (all-powerful). T
herefore, nothing is hidden from His sight. No one has ever sinned without His knowledge. He knows not only the deeds, but the thoughts, feelings and intentions of every living thing. He is also fully capable of meting out punishment that fits the crime.
Thank God He is also Love. His justice coexists with His grace and mercy which He has given through Jesus to whosoever will believe, repent, confess and receive Him as Savior and Lord. He will bring everyone to account.
“Thank You Jesus for who You are, all You’ve done and will still do. You alone are perfectly just and true. Amen.”
I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.”—Ecclesiastes 3:17
But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always.—Hosea 12:6
He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light.—Job 12:22
Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever.
For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. Wrongdoers will be completely destroyed ; the offspring of the wicked will perish.
The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever.—Psalm 37:27-29
