Reading From Revelation 15
“And I saw what looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and over the number of its name. They held harps given them by God and sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb:
“Great and marvelous are your deeds,
Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
King of the nations.
Who will not fear you, Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
—Revelation 15:2-4
In the end, all nations will come together before the throne of Almighty God and worship Him and Him alone. We see this unity not at the expense of integrity or because of compromise or as the result of diplomatic negotiations. The nations will come together for the common purpose of worshipping the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Their song says much about themselves and about the God they will worship. “Great and marvelous are your deeds.” There is much competition and boasting among the various nations of the world with many vying for dominance. Notice the humility expressed in their song. Rather than explaining why a certain nation is the greatest, they speak of our God’s great and marvelous deeds and worship Him for them.
“Just and true are your ways” they sing. Human beings are called by God to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly before Him, but the governments of the Earth do not and cannot mete out perfect justice in their courts. They do not have the benefit of omniscience and omnipotence that the Lord God does. All human governments consist of politicians. Politics is not a line of work known for the discipline of telling the whole truth. In Heaven, everything secret thing will be laid bare. There will be nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, nothing left to do but bow before the One who by His very nature reigns holy and supreme.
“God Almighty, Creator and Sustainer of all things. I humbly ask that You would give Your sons and daughters the strength, power and wisdom to share Your love and message among the nations. Bless us with patient endurance to labor in Your vineyard. You are the Lord of the Harvest. While Your workers may be few, we know that one can take one thousand and two can take ten thousand. Advance Your Kingdom upon the Earth. Let Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. In the faithful and true Name of Jesus Christ I pray these things. Amen.”
For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.–Luke 8:17
