Reading From Revelation 12
“Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.”—Revelation 12:17
I don’t pretend to know for certain what all of the symbolic language of Revelation means, but I do know that I want to be counted among those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus. I want my faith in Him to be unshakeable. The foundation of the prophets and apostles is Christ Jesus and His Word. There is no stronger bedrock upon which to build my life. All other ground is sinking sand.
I must endure to the end in order for my salvation to be made complete. This doesn’t mean I have to have perfect behavior 24/7 until I die or am caught up to be with the Lord. It means that the Holy Spirit empowers me to do love God and show my love by obedience. Part of being faithful to Him is knowing what to do when I sin. I acknowledge my wrongdoing, confess, repent and thank Him for His forgiveness.
“Thank You Lord for Your goodness and mercy to me. I love You Jesus. Help me be faithful to You and Your Word. Amen.”
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
“Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
11 They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.
—Revelation 12:10-11
