Reading From Genesis 41-42

Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.”

¹⁶ “I cannot do it,” Joseph replied to Pharaoh, “but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.”—Genesis 41:15-16

Joseph walked with God. Yahweh spoke to him in dreams ever since he was a little boy, so this mode of communication was familiar to him. Even though this was very special to him, he knew that it was the power of God, not his own and therefore he remained humble and honest. God blesses each of His children with spiritual gifts. These are to be used to build up His Kingdom for His glory, not our own. Joseph understood this and the Lord continued to bless him.

“Lord, thank You for speaking to Your children. May we walk humbly with You, not ahead of You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, “This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ saith the Lord of hosts.—Zechariah 4:6
