True Love

To love is to will goodness toward another; to want what is best for them no matter what. Love is too often confused with desire. We need to distinguish the two. Our culture exalts desire above all else to the point of finding identity in desire which turns people into wild beasts rather than dignified human beings. You are so much more than what you lust after. Your sanctification, your spiritual growth, your conformation back into the image of Jesus depends on the alignment of your desires and thoughts and ideas with the principles of God’s Word. Your kingdom must be made subject to God’s Kingdom. Only then will you be permitted and empowered to function in His authority.
