Reading From Genesis 19-21
“Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know you did this with a clear conscience, and so I have kept you from sinning against me. That is why I did not let you touch her. Now return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not return her, you may be sure that you and all who belong to you will die.”—Genesis 20:6-7
God knows the thoughts, feelings, motives, and intentions of the heart and mind of every human being. He knows us better than we know ourselves. We think we know what we need and want, but God knows so much better than we can ever dream of knowing.
This is part of why we need to trust Him. Not only is He omniscient, which means all-knowing, but He still loves us and wants what is best for us. He will work all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called to His good purpose, as it says in the book of Romans. We can trust Him in every way for He is a good, good Father.
“Lord, I thank You for knowing me and still loving me. Please bring my thoughts and desires into alignment and balance with Your will revealed through the promises of Your Word and illuminated by the Holy Spirit. I love You Jesus. Amen.”
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.”—Proverbs 3:5-6
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.—I Samuel 6:7
