Our Family Table: Ever Present God

Daily Encouragement for the Family of God by Kenton Cheek

Reading From Job 32-34

“His eyes are on the ways of mortals;
    he sees their every step.
There is no deep shadow, no utter darkness,
    where evildoers can hide.
God has no need to examine people further,
    that they should come before him for judgment.
Without inquiry he shatters the mighty
    and sets up others in their place.”—Job 34:21-24

God sees and knows everything.  Nothing is hidden from His sight because He is everything at once.  He is omnipotent which means He is all-powerful.  He is omniscient which means that He is all-knowing.  He is omnipresent which means He is everywhere at the same time.  He sees everything you and I do, knows why we do it, and yet He still loves us and wants to have healthy, balanced relationship with us.  His desire is to take us as we are and shape us into what and who He wants us to be.

“God I praise You for who You are and all You have done.  You are awesome, God.  I pray that I would be reminded daily of Your splendor.  In the Name of Jesus Christ I pray these things, Amen.”

Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.

—Psalm 139:7-10
