Reading From Job 21-23
“Submit to God and be at peace with Him; in this way prosperity will come to you. Accept instruction from His mouth and lay up His words in your heart. If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored: If you remove wickedness far from your tent and assign your nuggets to the dust, your gold of Ophar to the rocks in the ravines, then the Almighty will be your gold, the choicest silver for you.”
—Job 22:21-25
Not everything Job’s friends said was wrong. This is a beautiful reminder that as we come to God in faith, repentance, and confession, He is faithful to forgive us and restore us to the life He intended for mankind. Doing so shows that you have your priorities where they should be. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Treasure not only the things of God, but God Himself. Yield to the work of the Spirit in you and through you and you will store up treasures in Heaven. He is our very great reward. The treasures you’ll find in Heaven are those you led to Jesus. We are the treasures set before Him.
“God, I love You for who You are and all the marvelous things You have done for me, in me and through me. Thank You for choosing me. I choose You. I love You. In the Name of Jesus Christ I pray these things. Amen.”
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
—Hebrews 12:1-3
