Reading From Job 17-20

“Nevertheless, the righteous will hold to their ways, and those with clean hands will grow stronger.”—Job 17:9

Those who are truly born again will continue in the faith. There may be times of distraction or doubt, but in the end the genuine child of God will listen to the Holy Spirit’s encouragement and course correction. Part of being faithful to the Lord is repenting and receiving forgiveness when we sin. The righteous will hold to the ways of the Lord and endure to the end.

The way of love expressed in compassion and holiness is the healthiest lifestyle available for humanity. God’s ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He desires healthy, balanced, life-giving relationship with His children and He knows what is best for our lives. Serving God makes us healthy, strong and growing.

“Lord, forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Give us the strength we need to do what is right, no matter the consequences. Help us be true and faithful to You as You lead us by Your perfect example. In the Name of Jesus I pray these things. Amen.”

³ Who may climb the mountain of the Lord?
    Who may stand in his holy place?
⁴ Only those whose hands and hearts are pure,
    who do not worship idols
    and never tell lies.
⁵ They will receive the Lord’s blessing
    and have a right relationship with God their savior.
⁶ Such people may seek you
    and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob.^[a]
