Reading From Job 14-16
“Man who is born of a woman
is few of days and full of trouble.”
—Job 14:1
Man, ain’t that the truth? Human beings are fallen creatures, filled with trouble. Because sin is in the world, the world is filled with trouble as well. As we call on the Name of the Lord in faith for help, there are times when He delivers us from our miserable circumstances. Other times, He blesses us with everything we need to walk through the challenging season, deal with the crises, process through the tragedies, and heal our broken hearts.
Trouble is not the end of the story. It’s the middle. Faith, hope and love will see us through and into the Celestial Kingdom to be in the Presence of our Heavenly Father forever. Trouble is not allowed in the New Heaven and the New Earth. That is the land where peace and harmony reigns and you’ll get to enjoy it always if you decide to follow Jesus in this life. He gives us faith, hope and love in this life and the one to come.
“I want to take this moment to thank You, Lord. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I’m not afraid because You are right there with me. You shine light in the darkness. We keep me warm when it’s cold. You fill me with love when I experience hatred. There is no end to Your goodness. I am grateful for You. Thank You Jesus. Amen.”
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.
—Psalm 34:19
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
—II Corinthians 4:8-9
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
—John 16:33
