Reading From Job 10-13

“You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit.”

—Job 10:12

God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things.  Not only did He create the globe we live on and created the conditions necessary to sustain life, but He wove together countless strands of history and made it so that generation after generation, parents survived long enough to have children down through the ages until your grandparents, your parents, and now finally you were born.  If that were not enough, He also made a way for you to be born again and have spiritual life abundant and eternal.

God is love and He generously fills our hearts with His love if we will stop insisting on having our own way and yield to the work of His Spirit in us and through us.  He gives us so much love that we cannot help but share that love with others.  Without Him we are nothing and yet with Him we have everything.

God is able, more than able, to protect and defend His cherished sons and daughters.  If you have decided to believe, repent, confess and surrender to Him, then you are a child of God, adopted and sealed into His eternal family, the household of faith.  Your destiny is to be one with God and reign with Him forever.  Until we get there, we will face many hardships and even seasons of grief and trouble and stress and all kinds of challenges.  No matter what you are going through, remember that if you are a child of God, then your life is hidden with Christ in God.  Whatever happens to you physically on Earth, your home is in Heaven and we eagerly await our Savior from there.

“God, I thank You for the promises of Your Word.  Your principles and precepts bring life by the power of Your Spirit.  Rekindle the fire of devotion within us.  Fill us afresh with Your Spirit.  Remind us of Your goodness even when all around us seems so cold and dark.  In the Name of Jesus Christ I pray these things.  Amen.”

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

—Psalm 118:6

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

—Psalm 27:1

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

—Matthew 10:28
