Reading From Job 6-9

“Anyone who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.”

—Job 6:14

     Genuine love expressed in compassion and holiness is what God wants to see from His children.  As we come to Him in faith, repentance, confession and surrender, He fills our hearts to overflowing with His love and He wants us to share that love with others.  We do this in both spiritual and practical ways. 

     The Lord has shown us from the principles of His Word how to lead a blessable life, one that honors Him in thought, word and deed.  We show God that we love Him by our obedience and His greatest commandment is to love Him, love others, and love ourselves in healthy and holy ways.  So vital to our walk with Him is the expression of love, that without it, Job says that we are not truly following God.  This is echoed and confirmed in the New Covenant.  Love is essential.

“Lord Jesus, we love You so much.  Thank You for loving us first.  May we return that love to You by loving others and loving ourselves.  Help us to see others and see ourselves as You see us.  Give us the strength that we need to walk with You in the beauty of holiness.  In the lovely Name of Jesus Christ I pray these things.  Amen.”
