Reading From Job 1-5
“As I have seen, those who plow iniquity
and sow trouble reap the same.”
—Job 4:8
It has been said that the New Testament is in the Old concealed, and the Old Testament is in the New revealed. Here we first discover the spiritual law of sowing and reaping. This is one such example of the many threads of truth which are woven together to make the beautiful, harmonious tapestry of Scripture. The marvelous wonder of this book, the Holy Bible, never ceases to amaze me. What a treasure of immeasurable worth. The Bible was written over a period of between 1,400 and 1,500 years on three continents and yet has a cohesive narrative with hundreds of messianic prophesies fulfilled in Jesus, four records of His life, death and resurrection, and then the unpacking of divine truth in the New Testament with a total of 63,779 cross-references, more than any other religious text in the history of the world.
“Heavenly Father, I pray that those who read its pages, study, meditate, and put it into practice, will sow seeds of Your love and truth in their lives, the lives of their families, churches, communities, regions, nations and around the world. Empower Your children to advance Your Kingdom of Light in this dark world. In the Name of Your Son Jesus Christ I pray these things, Amen.”
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
—Galatians 6:7-10
