Reading From Hebrews 13
“Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”—Hebrews 13:20-21
The power in the blood of Jesus is what makes new life and resurrection possible for all. The Eternal Spirit was able to raise Him from the dead and will raise all those who trust in Him because the price for sin was paid. When the blood is applied to our lives by the Spirit, we come alive and begin to walk with Jesus in our daily lives.
God equips us with everything we need for life and godliness in His Word the Bible, illuminated by the Spirit. As we read, study, meditate, and put the precepts and principles of Scripture into practice by speaking and doing them, the Word of God is made manifest in our lives. It is living and active and as the sons and daughters of God do His will, the timeless truths are brought into our modern context and change the world around us for the better.
We know the will of God from the Bible. The more we know and live the Scriptures, the more we know of the heart of God and His glory is revealed in us and through us. His will is that we love Him, love others and love ourselves in the healthy and holy ways we learn from His Word. Through Him we have salvation, healing, power, and hope. We are equipped with everything good for doing His will.
“O Benevolent Father, You are the Perfect Parent. You equip Your children with everything they need. Our desire is to please You and bring honor to Your great Name. Fill us with Your Spirit to overflowing that we may be Your witnesses of love and truth to our communities, regions, nations and the world. In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.”
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.—Hebrew 13:1-3
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.—I Thessalonians 5:16-18
