Reading From Hebrews 4

“Therefore, since we have a great high priestwho has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”—Hebrews 4:14-16

By grace through faith the Throne of God is always accessible for His sons and daughters. God loves to help His kids and He is always ready and winning to do so. Jesus is the Son of God who became the Son of Man in part so that He would be able to empathize with our weaknesses and temptations and struggles. He lived life on Earth as a perfect example of how we should live. He was able to be that perfect example because He is God. He intercedes with the Father on our behalf.

Our Great High Priest is also the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world and by His blood allows us to ever the Father’s Presence. By faith in Christ Jesus and His blood we are justified; we have right standing with God and it is just as though we had never sinned. The core of our being is made perfect in His sight and we spend the rest of our faith journey on Earth having that perfection work its way into the other areas of our lives. We must stand firm and persevere no matter the severity of the challenges we walk through as we know that our God helps us along our way.

“God, I thank You for Your compassion, grace and mercy You freely give to whosoever will believe, repent, confess and receive from Your generous hand. Make me more aware of Your Presence as I go about my days. Remind me to use Your wisdom in making decisions. Help me to be a blessing to those around me for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.”

For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.Hebrews 2:17
