Reading From Colossians 4

“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”—Colossians 4:5-6

So many today seem to not care how they across to others. I know that we should speak the truth, but where is the love in how Christians communicate? Social media has given everyone a platform who wants it. As the people of God, we need to be wise about how we present ourselves to others who might not know us or the Lord Jesus we serve.

The Scriptures reveal that the sons and daughters of God are His ambassadors in the world today. Educate yourself. Diligently study the Scriptures. Explore historical and cultural subjects and keep informed about current events. It is vital to approach such matters with the Holy Spirit’s special insight and a balanced, reasonable interpretation of the Word of God in your heart and mind.

Before you post anything, before you share something with another, stop and THINK. Is what I’m about to spread to others True? Is it Helpful? Is it Inspiring? Is it Necessary? And finally, is it Kind? If it doesn’t meet these criteria, share it with God and no one else. Let Him deal with it. If I don’t have something righteous to say, I shouldn’t say anything at all. It’s ok to be quiet and mind your business.

“O Lord God, help us. Help us be more aware of Your Presence all around us. Show us how to tap into Your knowledge, wisdom and anointing. We need Your discernment. We need Your Holy Spirit to bring back to remembrance the righteous and healthy principles and precepts we’ve learned from You. Thank you for Your loving kindness. Make us aware of how we come across to others. May we use the tools and fruit You’ve given us to be excellent witnesses for You. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.”

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.II Corinthians 5:17-21
