Our Family Table: Already But Not Yet

Reading From Philippians 3

“All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.”—Philippians 3:15-16

God has blessed us as His sons and daughters with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in the here and now. Our citizenship is in heaven and we eagerly await the Savior from there, but we remain trapped in time and space. We have the Presence and power of the Spirit. We don’t have to wait for right standing with God, we enjoy that now by grace through faith in the blood of Jesus. Therefore, the rest of our lives is spent growing in faith, hope and love as Jesus brings our lives into alignment with His Word. Sanctification is the process of living up to what we’ve already attained by grace through faith.

“Lord, give me strength to resist temptation and live for You. Amen.”

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ—Ephesians 1:3
