Reading From Ephesians 5:1-16
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”—Ephesians 5:15-16
A godly lifestyle is one built with intention, it’s not something that happens accidentally. The wisdom that we need to have a solid life comes from the Word of God. This is why it’s an excellent practice to read a chapter of Proverbs each day. There are 31 chapters so in months with 31 days there’s a chapter for each day. Proverbs is full of practical wisdom for relationships to career advice and help for everyday life and anything else you might need.
Many times we allow opportunities to share the love and message of Jesus slip right by us. Perhaps we do this for lack of courage or thinking that we’re ill equipped or simply not making the time to stop and make the most of the precious moments. Never underestimate the power of the testimony of God’s miracles in you and through you. Simply share those amazing things God has done and see how He can use you to change the lives of others.
“Lord, bring us back to the knowledge and wisdom found in Your Word. Help us to build our lives upon You, our firm foundation. Open our eyes to the opportunities You set before us in our paths to minister to others. Give us Your eternal perspective and order our steps. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.—Hebrews 3:13
