II Corinthians 11:16-33
“If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.”—II Corinthians 11:30
Salvation comes to us when we come to the end of ourselves and realize that we can’t do this life alone and be successful in a way that matters in eternity. I am a sinner in need of the grace and mercy of God. It is in that need and the admission of that need that invite the strength and power of God to well up within us and shore us up. He will not force this upon us. We must choose Him; choose to surrender to Him; choose to yield to the power of the Holy Spirit coursing through us.
“Lord, I am weak but You are strong. I need Your strength to make it through this life and endure to the end. Increase and strengthen my faith and trust in You. Help me in my unbelief. I surrender to You and to Your ways. Empower me to follow You all the days of my life. Thank You for making me part of Your household of faith. In the strong and mighty Name of King Jesus I pray these things. Amen.”
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.—II Corinthians 12:9
1 I am weak but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.
