Reading From II Corinthians 10

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”—II Corinthians 10:4-5

I believe the weapons mentioned here are found in Ephesians 6 as the full armor of God which says, “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,which is the word of God.” Truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation and the Word of God are what we use to fight the spiritual powers of darkness in this world.

It is nothing short of miraculous how the armor of God decimates the tactics of our adversary. Control, manipulation, influence, money, and every act of the sinful nature are no match for the power of God who is Love. The pure and holy love of God is the most powerful force in all the universe. Nothing can match it. Fortunately for us, Jesus won the victory on the cross. What we must do is live it out today.

“God, empower us with Your Holy Spirit to boldly stand against the wickedness of Satan and his demons. Give us strength to resist temptation. Fill us up to overflowing with Your love that we might overcome evil with good. In the strong and mighty Name of Jesus I pray these things. Amen.”

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.—Ephesians 6:10-13
