Our Family Table: His Presence is Present Enough

Encouragement for the Family of God by Kenton Cheek

Reading From II Corinthians 4

“Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.”

—II Corinthians 4:13-15

By grace through faith our lives are transformed by the same power that raised Jesus from the dead.  This same Spirit who is alive and well within us, empowering us to live godly lives, and uniting all believers into one eternal family in harmony with Heavenly Father.  In Jesus we have the blessed hope of His glorious appearing, the second advent when He will raise us up and gather us all to Himself in glory.

To be in the Presence of God eternally is not the destiny of only the best performing believers.  Rather, it is the inheritance that every born again child of God has to look forward to.  He is our reward.  Jesus is enough.  As more people choose to trust in Him, that amazing family expands and with that expansion comes more honor and glory to God.

“Lord Jesus, I ask that You would increase and strengthen my faith in You.  Thank You for the hope that You fill my heart with.  I am deeply grateful for Your love, grace and mercy.  I need You more each day.  In the faithful Name of Jesus I pray these things.  Amen.”

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.—II Corinthians 5:8
