Our Family Table: Sharing Comfort

Encouragement for the Family of God by Kenton Cheek

Reading From II Corinthians 1

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”—II Corinthians 1:3-4

No one can comfort us like our God can. He knows our every need and is able to meet our needs and bless us abundantly more than we can ask for or imagine. As we receive His healing touch and are comforted with His loving Words, we are to in turn extend comfort and compassion to those who are struggling. Nothing is wasted with God. When the enemy comes against us, He not only comforts us but as we learn and grow from our own struggles, He enables us to guide and comfort others in their challenges.

“Lord Jesus, show Your children how we can best be a blessing to others. Thank You for Your love and comfort in Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.II Thessalonians 3:16
