Reading From I Corinthians 11:17-34

“For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”  In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”  For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”—I Corinthians 11:23-26

When we take communion together with our brothers and sisters in the Lord, we celebrate His death. When we are baptized in water, we celebrate our death, cleansing, and we are raised to new life in Christ. As we die to our former way of life, we experience a connection with God and His eternal family that is deeper than anything we will ever know. Communion is a celebration of us communing with Him and each other as one. It powerfully symbolizes and celebrates unity and love and harmony with God and His eternal family.

“Lord, forgive us our sins that we might partake of Your death, burial and resurrection in a manner worthy of You. Help Your sons and daughters to live honorable lives that express Your heart of love to those around us in our circles of family, friends, churches, communities, nations and our world. In the Name of our Lord Christ I pray these things, Amen.”

My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one,Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.John 17:20-23
