Reading From I Corinthians 10:1-8

“These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come. So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”—I Corinthians 10:11-13

Nothing goes to waste with Yahweh. He can bring glory and goodness no matter how horrible the predicament. Every situation we find ourselves can be a teachable moment when we allow it to. One of the many purposes of the Old Testament Law and Prophets is to show us the blessings that come with loving obedience and the curses that come from prideful disobedience. If we study the Scriptures and learn from their lessons, it enables us to know principles without having to make the same mistakes that our forefathers and foremothers in the faith did.

I take great comfort that my struggles are not unique. There are other brothers and sisters who are wrestling with there same things I am and we can encourage one another as we move forward in faith. God is bigger than any trial or temptation and if we look to Him for His strength, knowledge, wisdom and power, we shall overcome!

“Lord, fill Your servants to overflowing with Your power. Help us to resist temptations of all kinds. You provided total and ultimate victory on the cross and the empty tomb, but show us how to live out that victory in everyday life. In Jesus’ strong and mighty Name I pray, Amen and amen!”

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.—I Corinthians 15:57
