Forever Home in the Eternal Family of God

I remain confident of this:
    I will see the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living.

The Lord God not only gives us the assurance that we will be with Him in the eternities enjoying paradise with Him in the New Heaven and the New Earth, but He also intervenes in our lives here and now. He brings the life transforming power of His love and grace to us in the context of our individual lives whatever our lives look like.

In the darkest despair, the promises of His Word bring us hope. He provides, protects and prospers His children in our present reality and I’m so grateful for His Presence. His goodness can be experienced by grace through faith not only in our heavenly future, but through the power of the Spirit His sons and daughters experience foretastes of glory divine. We know His goodness right here, right now in the land of the living.

This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
    on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
    as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from the evil one.’
