Reading From Romans 15:1-13

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.”—Romans 15:5-7

The goal of our faith is perfect unity with the Father and with one another for His glory. This unity is made possible by the conforming of His sons and daughters back into His image through the gradual process of sanctification. As we become more like Him, we will be one mind and one voice.

God accepts us just as we are but He loves us too much to let us stay that way. His love and grace and mercy are transformative. He changes our hearts, minds and behaviors to be more like Him as we surrender each area of life to Him. So let us have patience with each other. We’re all going through the same process at different speeds and in different conditions. We need to love and accept each other as Christ does for us as individuals.

“Holy Spirit, break our pride and open our eyes to the fact that every human is a sinner in need of the same grace and mercy that we’ve experienced. Show us creative ways of sharing Your love and truth with those who need You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,  that all of them may be one,Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.  I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.—John 17:20-23
