Restoration Reminder

The New Eden

The goal of our salvation is perfect harmony and uninhibited unity with God the Father as His eternal family through Jesus Christ by the power of the Spirit.  This goal is called glorification.  Jesus told us, “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”[1]  We will not be gods or goddesses in our own right, but rather partakers of His divine nature as II Peter 1:4 says, “Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”  God alone is to be the object of worship of the entire universe, and we will enjoy His Presence forever as His sons and daughters.

Paradise will be restored and His relationship with humanity will be more intimate than ever before.  You see, His greatest desire is for the sons of Adam and daughters of Eve to be adopted into His eternal family and discover their true identity, deepest sense of belonging and thrilling destiny in Him.  One bright day we will drink from the River of Life and partake of the fruit of the Tree of Life in perfect unity with the One who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

God is restoring us to Eden with every act of submission to His plan, from glory to glory.  God is shaping us back into His image, more and more like Jesus[2].  With every soul that is rescued from the dominion of darkness and brought into the Light, the Kingdom of God expands upon the earth.[3]  Every passing day is one day closer to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the restorative work will be complete. One day He will cleanse the world with fire and bring about an even grander Eden by far, a New Heaven and a New Earth.   The eternal family of God will dwell there in perfect harmony with God and with one another.  Our ultimate destiny is adventure in the New Garden of Eden.[4]  We came from a garden, we were redeemed in a garden, and we will be restored to a garden.
