Reading From Acts 2:1-21

“These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
    and they will prophesy.”—Acts 2:15-18

The last days describes the time period between the Ascension and Second Coming of Jesus Christ. We are living in the last days right now and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit is available to all those who have been born again regardless of age or gender. The Church desperately needs the power and passion of the Spirit in order to obey the Great Commandment and fulfill the Great Commission.

Unfortunately there are many believers who are uncomfortable with a move of the Holy Ghost and they attempt to set up false theological constructs in order to limit and quench the flow of His power. What is needed is a plain and simple reading of the whole counsel of the Word of God, especially Acts 1-2 and I Corinthians 12-14. The outpouring of the Spirit is so expansive that Acts 2 tells us He is being poured out on ALL people. Whosoever asks in faith will receive power and passion from the Almighty.

“Lord Jesus, keep us in the right path with You. I pray against blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and that hearts would be opened to His work. Soften us and make us pliable in Your hands. Shape us into the men and women You’ve called us to be. Fashion us into Your image for Your glory. Fill us to overflowing with Your power and passion to expand Your Kingdom upon the Earth. In the Name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.”

11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for[f] a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”Luke 11:11-13

Quench not the Spirit.

20 Despise not prophesyings.

21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

I Thessalonians 5:19-25
