“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”—John 16:12-15
If we were to receive all the divine revelation God has for us all at once, our finite minds would be completely overwhelmed! This is why the Holy Spirit gently guides us into all truth, teaching us line upon line, precept upon precept. With this progressive understanding, the Lord builds upon what we have already learned, thus gradually expanding and deepening our knowledge of Him and the truths of His Word. It is important for us to remain hungry and thirsty for more from the Lord. He rewards those who diligently seek Him and as we apply His principles in daily life, we are transformed from glory to glory to become more like Him. Let us decrease that He would increase!
But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.—Hebrews 11:6
