Reading From John 7:28-53
Jesus said, “I am with you for only a short time, and then I am going to the one who sent me. You will look for me, but you will not find me; and where I am, you cannot come.”
The Jews said to one another, “Where does this man intend to go that we cannot find him? Will he go where our people live scattered among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? What did he mean when he said, ‘You will look for me, but you will not find me,’ and ‘Where I am, you cannot come’?”
God the Holy Spirit, God the Son and God the Father are One God. The Son came from the Father from Heaven to Earth to become the Son of Man that He would be our perfect example of how to lead an abundant, healthy, godly life. Even those of us who are born again and connected to God and one another by the Spirit cannot be with Him in the fullness of His glory in our present reality. One day we will be with Him in His Presence, but until then we eagerly await the resurrection and the marriage supper of the Lamb.
I find it so ironic that the Jews speculated that Jesus meant that He would go spread His teachings among the Greeks abroad because this is exactly what happened after Jesus ascended. The born again sons and daughters of God are called to spread His love and message to every tribe, every language, every nation. We are the Body of Christ upon the Earth. So yes, Jesus is going among the Jews and Gentles scattered all over the world!
“Lord God, thank You for guiding us by Your Spirit into deeper revelation of who You are and what our identity, community and destiny is in You. We exalt Your holy Name. Make us more like You we pray, Amen.”
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. —Acts 1:8
