Reading From John 2
“Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name. But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.”—John 2:23-25
Human beings have this deep need to be seen, known, heard, understood, and loved. We yearn for a sense of purpose and belonging. All of these needs are met in healthy, balanced, life-giving relationship with Jesus. Jesus is God and He knows everything about everyone, for He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things.
Not only does Jesus know me better than I know myself, He is also trustworthy. I can trust Him with my heart. I can trust Him with my hidden thoughts and desires. He is willing and able to forgive any sin no matter how small or how big and wants to restore us in every way. He knows all about me and still loves me, but He loves me too much to let me stay in my current condition. He wants me to learn and grow. As we discover our true identity in Him, He joins us together with Him in His eternal family and guides us into our destiny in the New Eden.
“Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me. No one else can love me like You do. I surrender my will to Yours in order to enjoy the light, warmth and love of Your Presence. Draw me closer to You. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.”
Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.—Luke 12:7
