Reading From John 1:1-28

“No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.”—John 1:18

These are plain and precious truths that tell us much about the nature of Almighty God. Not even Moses, the greatest prophet before Jesus, was allowed to see God in all of His glory. He spoke with Yahweh face to face, but because we know that all of Scripture is harmonious, it must be that not even in these intimate conversations between Moses and God was the ancient prophet able to see all of His splendor. This is what made the incarnation of Jesus so special. He is Immanuel, God with us. I

t could be that Moses spoke with the pre-incarnate Christ rather than the Father. Jesus is God and He told His followers that if they had seen Him, they’d seen the Father. There is perfect unity of essence and purpose within the Trinity. Jesus is the exact representation of the Father.

“Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to reveal so much about Your nature and heart for humanity. Thank You for Your love. Reveal more to me about Your character and purpose in Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.—Hebrews 1:3
