Reading From Luke 18:24-43
“Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”
“Lord, I want to see,” he replied.
Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.”
—Luke 18:40-43
Those who were leading the way for Jesus through the crowds tried to shush this blind man, but he was persistent in trying to reach the Lord. I need to be persistent and press in to the Presence of God. The blind man reached out to Jesus in faith for healing and the response of the Lord was a miracle brought about by the man’s faith and the power of God.
When the blind man received His sight, he immediately began to follow Jesus and praise God. This should be my response to the Lord’s miraculous work in my life. Recognizing the Lord’s wonders should motivate me to follow Him diligently and endeavor to bring glory and honor to the Father. As I let my testimony shine for the world to see, I pray that others would see the marvelous things He has done for me and praise Him too.
“Lord, there is so much knowledge and wisdom to be had from Your Word the Bible. Thank You for the Scriptures and what You reveal to us through them. I pray that we would hide Your Word in our hearts that we might not sin against You or against one another. Guide us into all truth by Your Holy Spirit and lead us forward in faith toward our destiny as Your sons and daughters in Your eternal family. In the Name of the Lord Jesus I pray these things. Amen.”
Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
—Mark 16:20
I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.
—Psalm 86:12
