Reading From Luke 11:29-54
“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.”
—Luke 11:33
The world we live in is filled with the bewildering darkness of confusion and deception. When a person comes to faith in Christ, the light of truth comes into their life and dispels the darkness within and without. This light is not meant only for the individual believer to enjoy. The bountiful blessings that our Heavenly Father pours into us are not to be hoarded, but shared.
If you are a son or daughter of the Most High God, then what You have is desperately needed by those around you. All too often believers have tunnel vision on their own lives and mistakenly think that everyone around them is doing just fine without the Lord. We need to remember that people go to great lengths to maintain the façade that everything is okay and that they have it all under control.
Without the light of Christ, a human being is spiritually dead on the inside and they don’t even realize what they’re missing. You possess what they need. Share it with them. Speak the truth in love and be intentional in developing relationships where lost people can see from your example what it means to be found in Jesus.
“Lord, I pray that You would open my eyes to the need in people around me. Help me to see them as You see them. Give me the words to say to them to share Your love with them and make plain Your message of salvation. I would be lost without You. Thank You for lighting my way forward. The truths of Your Word are like a lighthouse on the Rock by the stormy sea. Guide people to Your side. May I be a helpful partner with You in this great work. In the Name of Jesus Christ I pray these things. Amen.”
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
—Psalm 119:105
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
—Matthew 5:16
