Daily Encouragement for the Family of God by Kenton Cheek

Reading From Mark 3:20-35
“Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”
And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”
So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”
—Mark 3:20-25
When God gives you a unique message and ministry, others are bound to think you are weird or need to be corrected or tell you to know your place. Apparently even the earthly family of Jesus felt this way about Him. Sometimes family feels like they know best and fortunately they usually mean well. The religious establishment were threatened by Jesus and His message because it challenged their position above the people and therefore their source of power and wealth.
I thank the Lord Jesus that He knew His message from the Father and the ministry given to Him upon the Earth and He remained completely faithful and committed to not only providing us with the perfect example of life and godliness but also the ministry and message of reconciliation. No one else has had the impact upon life on planet Earth that Jesus Christ has. When I think of the billions of personal testimonies of His followers over the centuries, I rejoice to know that I am part of this great eternal family made up of people who were forever changed by His love and power.
If you have made the decision to trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you are a born again child of God. He has given you a unique calling to share His love and message with those around you. Never allow anyone to challenge that call. There will come times that you will need course correction or gentle encouragement or even rebuke, but it should only be accepted from those you trust and for the purpose of building up your faith, deepening your understanding, and affirming your calling.
The Spirit will always edify and encourage, He will never tear you down or belittle you or make you feel less than. Be encouraged to continue growing and deepening your faith and understanding of Christ and His Word. Life with Him is an extraordinary adventure!
“Lord, I thank You for who You are and for what You have done and continue to do for me and my family. May I be a blessing to those around me. Speak to me and through me to encourage others and build up Your Kingdom. Forgive me of my sins. Wash me clean in Your blood. Fill me once again to overflowing with Your love and the power of Your Spirit. Anoint me to do Your work. Give me fresh perspective on Your Word and the world around me. I give You all the praise and all the glory. I love You Jesus. Amen.”
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
—Ephesians 6:10-12
