Reading From Matthew 25:1-30
“‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’”
–Matthew 25:28-30
When come to Christ in faith, He wants us to grow and flourish. We are to plant seeds of kindness and knowledge, tend a spiritual garden and reap a harvest. If we keep the Gospel to ourselves and live in a holy huddle to the exclusion of the world around us, then are we truly saved? Are we really born again? I have the Good News of Jesus in my heart and I want others to know the same wonderful Savior that I do! If we share the treasures that God has blessed us with, then He will bless us all the more and we will have even more to share.
In the Great Commandment we are called to love God, love others and love ourselves as Jesus does. He also gave us the Great Commission to go into all the world and make disciples. Whatever we are doing and wherever we find ourselves, we should be about our Father’s business, allowing the Holy Spirit to do His powerful work through us. God wants us to share our temporal and spiritual blessings with others. If we do not, then we are not His children and will spend eternity apart from His Presence.
“Lord Jesus, may we prove our faith true by loving others. Empower us for the work of Your ministry of reconciliation. Thank You for blessing us with everything we need for life and godliness. Soften our hearts. Speak to us, Lord. Give us the direction that we need. Put Your Word in our mouths. Guide our footsteps as we work in Your vineyard. May we reap a bountiful harvest in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”
And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?
—Luke 2:49
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
–Matthew 6:33
