Reading From Matthew 24:29-51

“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.”

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”

–Matthew 25:30-31, 36-42

What a glorious Day that will be!  We have been living in the Last Days ever since our Lord ascended into Glory and every day is one day closer to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.  He will come in the clouds and take us home to be with Him forevermore.  We do not know the precise year, day or hour of His Second Advent, but we do know that He is coming and coming soon.

All around us prophecies are being fulfilled such as the gathering of Israel to the Holy Land in 1948.  We can see pieces of the apocalyptic puzzle coming together and our Soon Coming King reminds us to be ready by obeying the Great Commandment and fulfilling the Great Commission.  He has not returned yet because the Father wants as many people as possible to experience the abundant and eternal life provided by the Son.

“Lord, I pray that You would prepare Your Bride to meet You in the air.  Cleanse us with Your blood, dress us in robes of righteousness, anoint us with Your Holy Spirit, and guide us into our eternal destiny as part of Your family.  We love You Lord.  Amen.”

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

–II Peter 3:9
