Reading From I Corinthians 1-4

“To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” —I Corinthians 1:2-3

The eternal family of God is a community that God reaches through time and space to gather and unite His own unto Himself. Yahweh exists both inside and outside time and space; He is not limited by those same constraints as our present reality. To Him, a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day. He is also omnipresent; He is everywhere at the same time.

Therefore, when one of our brothers or sisters passes way, their bodies remain constrained by time and space but their spirits are present with the Lord and united with Him and His family to the highest degree of glorious harmony. Paul was not only writing to the local church gathered in Corinth, but to everyone everywhere who calls upon the Name of the Lord Jesus.

There is a reason that Paul sends grace and peace to you and I from God the Father and God the Son. Without experiencing the grace of the Lord there is no peace. The way to contentment, harmony, satisfaction and fulfillment is by following Jesus Christ. As we come to Him in faith and trust, He has a way of putting our lives into order and we may enjoy true peace.

“Lord, help us to let go and let You work in our lives. Amen.”

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:7
