The eternal family of God is made up of every born again believer who has ever lived. This family knows no limitation of time or space because we are joined together in unity by the Spirit of God despite our differences as individuals. While the universal Church is the family of God, on Earth today it is comprised of hundreds of thousands of local churches. Here I offer a few sentiments on the vision of the local family of God. Our sense of meaning and purpose flow from both the Great Commandment and the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Above all else we want to know, love and glorify God. As we keeping looking up to Him, we are filled with His love and He inspires us to love one another and everyone we meet. The symbol of the cross beautifully illustrates this balanced focus. The vertical beam represents our life-giving relationship with God by grace through faith. The horizontal beam speaks of the love of God flowing through us and into the lives of those around us in our everyday lives.
We believe that how we live our lives is our spiritual act of worship, but that the Lord also enjoys and calls us to celebrate His goodness together in song. He is enthroned on the praises of His people and in His Presence there is fullness of joy. Our worship exalts the Lord, proclaims who He is, honors the timeless truths of our faith and joyfully celebrates what God is doing today in the life of our church family and in the world.
One of the primary goals of our faith is to become more like Jesus and one day live in perfect harmony with God and with each other in Heaven. From the moment we are born again until we see Jesus face to face, we are on a path of spiritual growth. We are called to encourage and grow together with ever increasing faith, hope, holiness and love. We endeavor to cultivate healthy, balanced relationship with God and with one another marked by genuine love.
The Good News of Jesus is too good not to share! We are excited to share His love and message with people as we go along in our everyday lives. Our prayer is that God works through us to reach our local community, region and the world with the light and warmth of His truth.
It is not enough to say that we love others, we are called to share the love of God in practical ways. We look to Him for inspiration in discovering creative new ways of extending genuine compassion in spiritual and temporal expressions.
Life is a journey that God does not intend for anyone to travel alone. We welcome anyone and everyone with open arms to the House of the Lord and endeavor to build meaningful relationships with one another. All those who have placed their faith and trust in Jesus are part of the eternal family of God. We want to strengthen the bonds of love with each other and with Him and build a healthy, vibrant and thriving community of faith.
