Reading From Nehemiah 11-13, Psalm 126

“When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream!
We were filled with laughter and we sang for joy.
And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.”
Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!

Restore our fortunes, Lord, as streams renew the desert.
Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.
They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.”

–Psalm 126

When God brings restoration to someone’s life, it is cause for celebration!  Not only does the individual get to see the Lord working in wonderful ways in their own life, but the testimony of His wonders are on display for others to see, share in their joy and glorify God because of it.  As we ask God to restore our fortunes, let us not neglect to continue doing what is right in His sight as we wait for Him to move among us.  Our humble and patient obedience will be rewarded in more ways than one.

“Lord God I pray that You would continue Your work of restoration in my life and in the lives of my brothers and sisters in Christ.  You have such an incredible way of taking what is ugly and making it beautiful, things that are wilting and withering and making them flourish.  Display Your glory among us as You work Your redemptive miracles in the lives of human beings.  Save, heal, empower and fill us with hope we pray!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

–Galatians 6:9
