Reading From Ezekiel 9-12

“Again a message came to me from the Lord: “Son of man, you’ve heard that proverb they quote in Israel: ‘Time passes, and prophecies come to nothing.’ Tell the people, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will put an end to this proverb, and you will soon stop quoting it.’ Now give them this new proverb to replace the old one: ‘The time has come for every prophecy to be fulfilled!’

“There will be no more false visions and flattering predictions in Israel. For I am the Lord! If I say it, it will happen. There will be no more delays, you rebels of Israel. I will fulfill my threat of destruction in your own lifetime. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!”

–Ezekiel 12:21-25

The Kingdom of God is filled with prophets and prophetesses who are speaking forth the Word of the Lord faithfully and yet many people ignore their messages speaking truth and calling people to repentance.  Many do not take sin or its effects seriously, the broader issue is that they do not take the Word of God seriously.  Satan has spread lies about the Scriptures all over the world, the most common being that it is not trustworthy.

But the Bible is one of, if not the most well documented ancient manuscripts in existence with over 24,000 copies or portions of the New Testament from within 200 hundred years of the events it documents in the first century.  As for the Old Testament, the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947, originate from the 3rd Century BC through the 1st Century AD and confirm the accuracy of the modern Bible to 95% with the other 5% being errors in punctuation or spelling.

As for the spiritual veracity and trustworthiness of its message, Jesus Christ fulfilled over 300 messianic prophecies made hundreds of years before His birth.  This proves that the promises of God are reliable.  No other book ever written has the power and glory of the Holy Scriptures of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.  God is true to His Word.

“Lord, we praise You for keeping Your promises to us.  You are faithful and true.  I pray that we would take Your Word seriously enough to not only believe in You and what You say, but to obey and put it into practice.  Your Word makes us come alive.  It gives us the Good News of Your Son, speaks to us about everything pertaining to life and godliness, and gives us great hope for our future in You.  Thank You Jesus.  Amen.”

“I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them bythe truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

–John 17:13-19
