Reading From Isaiah 1-4
“Unless the Lord Almighty
had left us some survivors,
we would have become like Sodom,
we would have been like Gomorrah.”
—Isaiah 1:9
God has always preserved for Himself a group of people on the Earth who are faithful to Him. There has always been someone somewhere following Him, living according to His Word. The world has never been without a faithful witness.
When the great flood came, Noah and his family were preserved in the ark, which was symbolic of the salvation that came through Jesus. Lot and his family were the remnant rescued from Sodom and Gomorrah. In the dark reign of Ahab and Jezebel, Elijah thought he was the only one who had not bowed to Baal, but Yahweh had preserved seven thousand who were still faithful to Him.
Following your own way, fulfilling your own desires, satisfying your own cravings is a more popular way to live than surrendering our wills to God and living according to His Word. Narrow is the Way and few are those who travel on it. Broad is the path to destruction and unfortunately most people choose that route.
Those who chose the Way, the Truth and the Life are part of the universal Church, the Body of Christ, the eternal family of God. Jesus will give us the strength we need to follow Him and choose the right path.
“Lord, thank You that You have included me as one of Your own. I pray for Your children, Your sons and daughters all over Planet Earth. Bless us all with strength and courage and wisdom in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” —Matthew 7:13-14
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. —Matthew 16:18
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. —Romans 11:5
Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus. —Revelation 12:17
