Reading From Joshua 16-18
“The whole assembly of the Israelites gathered at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The country was brought under their control, but there were still seven Israelite tribes who had not yet received their inheritance.
So Joshua said to the Israelites: “How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you?”
–Joshua 18:1-3
God has given His children every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. He has provided everything we need for life and godliness. And yet there are still those among us in the eternal family of God who have stagnated in their spiritual growth and are not functioning in the victory that Yahweh has provided for those who love Him and are called according to His good purpose. None of us will live up to our full potential this side of Glory, but He has so much more for us than our present reality.
There is always room to grow with God. If you struggle with addiction, there is freedom in Him. If you struggle with bitterness, there is forgiveness in Him. If you struggle with fear, there is boldness and courage in Him. If you struggle with anxiety, there is calm and peace in Him.
Whatever it is under the sun that is holding you back from experiencing the next level of what God has for you, know that God has already provided the breakthrough for you in the finished work He did on the cross of Calvary. We must dare to trust and obey Him in order to enjoy the abundant and eternal life He has given us.
What God wants for my life, that’s what I want. God wants so much more for us than what this world has to offer. We often get distracted by the shiny objects around us. We take our eyes off the prize for which Christ calls us heavenward. Our destiny is to be partakers of His divine glory. Nothing is better than that. He is our inheritance.
“Lord, I want to trust You more. Increase my faith. I pray that You will break strongholds holding me back from experiencing the kind of life You want me to have. Replace sinful desires with holy ones. Empty me of myself and fill me with more of Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for the victorious life You provide. Amen.”
I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
–Psalm 27:13-14
